There is an Angel Working on Your Behalf!
In a world full of confusion and stress people often ask, “When will the Lord remember me? The more I work the harder it gets.” The Lord has millions of helpers that should be working on your behalf. Perhaps they’re not doing their job, because you are standing in the way, trying to do it yourself. Someone may say, “Prove it!” Here is the proof. Hebrews 1:13-14 “but to which of the angels has He ever said, "SIT AT MY RIGHT HAND, TILL I MAKE YOUR ENEMIES YOUR FOOTSTOOL?” Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation? It could be better translated as ‘ministering spirits that work on behalf of those who will inherit salvation.’ There is a heavy traffic of angels going up and down between Heaven and Earth on a daily basis. I believe these are the angels seen by our forefather Jacob. Jewish and rabbinical thought also suggest the same. Genesis 28:10-12 tell us, “Now Jacob went out from Beersheba and went toward Haran. So he came to a certain place and stayed there all night, because the sun had set. And he took one of the stones of that place and put it at his head, and he lay down in that place to sleep. Then he dreamed, and behold, a ladder was set up on the earth, and its top reached to heaven; and there the angels of God were ascending and descending on it.
With an uncertain future, facing a hostile world alone, Jacob needed encouragement. On his journey north from Beersheba toward Haran, he stopped to sleep and….Voila! He could see now what he couldn’t before. There was a ladder between the realms of Heaven and Earth with a heavy traffic of angels. What were they doing? They were working on behalf of those who will inherit salvation. On the top of that very ladder stood the Almighty One of Israel, who assured Jacob of His promises, presence, protection, and provision(Genesis 28:13-15). Jacob was not only comforted but also encouraged. Perhaps what we need to do is to get out of G-d’s way and let Him and His angels look after our affairs here on Earth. Meanwhile the time spent killing ourselves over lousy material things, let’s give it to G-d, maybe like Jacob we might have a glimpse of Heaven. At this very moment there is an angel working on your behalf, give G-d the glory for it!
