Stability from Above

There is frenzy out there among the intellectuals and economists even on the moderate side about the way our government is taking our land and our economy. We’ve been told that we have already spent the retirement of our unborn grandchildren. In the middle of all this confusing talk it is quite normal for many to feel like the ground under their feet is about to give up. We are used to stability. No matter how hard life may be, things have always been somehow stable in our nation. Now we are listening to so many alarming reports that are quite frightening. What do we do to overcome the anxiety that comes with all that is happening around us? Let’s go to G-d’s word!

In Isaiah 33:5-6 we read, “The LORD is exalted, for He dwells on high; He has filled Zion with justice and righteousness. Wisdom and knowledge will be the stability of your times, and the strength of salvation; the fear of the LORD is His treasure.”  It is almost like the Lord is allowing the whole chaos to take place to get the attention of a generation that may not know Him as they should. We have seen great stability and prosperity and may have forgotten our Provider, our Savior and Lord. G-d will be exalted in this nation no matter what! He is exalted, and always will be. He dwells on high and always will. It is our task to turn to G-d in difficult times like this so that our nation may be filled with “justice, righteousness, wisdom, knowledge, and the best of all, stability. Do we want to experience stable lives in our times? Let’s turn back to G-d, and fear His Name, where the real hidden treasure of life abides. When the concept of law was being developed in western nations, the Bible was recognized as the foundation of the legal system. An English lawmaker once said: “G-d has created eternal, immutable laws, which are binding over the entire globe and all countries, all times; no human laws are of any validity if they’re contrary to G-d’s laws. Despite such warnings, governments, judges, and politicians feel justified to determine morality according to their subjective standards. As a result we have the chaos we see in our days. So what do we do? Turn back to G-d, because true stability comes only in fearing His name.

In His service, your fellow servant,
