Having a Place in the Kingdom of G-d (part II)
As we have already stated in a previous bulletin, it is so sad to know that at this day and age millions if not billions of people are still trying to get to Heaven on their own strength. The Scriptures are so clear about salvation being achieved by grace through faith. Here are some frightening facts about our good works towards obtaining salvation.
According to Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of G-d.” No matter what we may do, we have all sinned and can’t make it on our own. In Isaiah 64:6 we read, “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are as filthy rags.” Do you think that going to Heaven’s gate and presenting to G-d our filthy rags is a means of getting us into the kingdom? Then we read in Romans 6:23, “For the wage of sin is death, but the gift of G-d is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” Thank the Lord there is hope for humans.
We don’t have to kill ourselves trying as hard as possible to pay the price of our ticket to Heaven. It has already been paid at Calvary’s cross when He said, “It is finished” (John 19:30). Let’s rejoice in the fact that the price is already paid. It is only through Him that one can make it into the kingdom of Heaven. Let’s love and serve Him even more, always remembering that we could never do it by our own merit or righteousness.
In Him,
