The Strong Bond of Love
Love is something that we search for throughout our lives. Sometimes it seems intangible, yet it may lie right between our eyes and we may not see it. In G-d's eyes church community life is supposed to be something so good that we want to come back for more. Listen to these words: "Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of His return is drawing near." (Hebrews 10:24-25)
New Testament fellowship goes much deeper than merely socializing when we get together in Church. It happens when we consider how we can lift up our brothers and sisters; how we can build them up, how can we brighten up their day. We are instructed to serve one another (Galatians 5:13); forgive one another, as we are forgiven (Ephesians 4:32); bear one another's burdens (Galatians 2:2); exhort and stir up good works in one another (Hebrews 10:24-25). True Christian fellowship takes place when we offer encouragement, lend an ear to a soul in trouble, lend a shoulder to brothers who are shaking in their beliefs, and when we pray for one another. These are the elements that create a strong bond of love, and generate true fellowship among us. We are taught to be "kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love" (Romans 12:10).
Are you ready to step out of your comfort zone and help G-d to create a strong bond of love in our Church that will scare the devil away? Let's lend the Lord a hand, and together create a bond of love within us that will not easily be broken.
