Forgiveness
What does forgiveness mean to you? In the Book of Matthew 18:21-22, we were told to break the record when it comes to forgiveness: 490 times a day. Assuming that we sleep eight hours per night, and spend one and a half hours eating; we have left about fourteen and a half hours per day in which we are called to forgive our brother. That is nearly every two minutes. We are not to take offense or get mad. We must forgive our brother or sister.
So the question than is, “What does forgiveness really mean?” You will find a million answers for that question, but I will share with you the one G-d gave me many years ago in the beginning of my walk with Him.
Forgiveness is the ability to go on with life, in a healthy way, without being hurt with the consequences of somebody else’s mistake.
If we park and dwell on the results and consequences of our brother’s mistakes life will be miserable. It does not mean we will forget. We will still remember. So how can we know we have forgiven? It will not hurt every time we remember. That is forgiveness coming from the heart of G-d.
G-d Bless You,
