We Are People of Faith
When purchasing an automobile one wants the vehicle to be in good running condition. The state in which it is purchased requires that the vehicle have a title. Without a title we would never be legally able to take possession of our new vehicle. Without a title one cannot get tags and without tags the car cannot be driven on public roads. Not being able to drive the new vehicle on public roads would defeat the purpose of buying the vehicle.
In Hebrews 11:01 we read, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” The Greek word for substance is “hypostasis” which connotes “footing” and is also used as a certificate of ownership. Knowing that, I believe that we can easily say that faith is the footing of all blessings we hoped and wished for. We can never lead lives of faith, victory and success if our faith is weak. Faith is the certificate of title of things we eagerly hope for. One may ask, “What is a certificate of title?” It is a document or collection of documents that proves our ownership of a building, car, land, boat and so forth. If we have the title to it, it is ours. Faith is that title, that bond, and that security!
Sometimes you may not see it or hear it. Sometimes the future may even look dark but when our faith gets in gear and starts to work within us it will change our way of seeing things. We will start to see miracles happening more frequently and we will become people of faith. We will see blessings where we never saw them before. We have the title, we have the faith! We are a people of faith!!!
