Relying on His Power in Times of Recession
We read in the Scriptures, “Both riches and honor come from You, and You reign over all. In Your hand is power and might; in Your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all. Now therefore, our G-d, we thank You and praise Your glorious name” (1 Chronicles 29:12-13).
Salvation begins by calling on His name. Our relationship, prayer and fellowship are through His name. All we are, have, and can do is through His glorious name. The Scriptures above reveals in great detail that we as believers have no reason to fear recession, depression, or anything similar. The world knows Him from afar as “The G-d of heaven and earth” therefore, they are afraid and in panic with the economy and everything else going around. We know Him personally as “Our G-d” and know Him more intimately as “Our Father.”
Relationships begin when we know one another by name. G-d knows us by our name, but do we know Him by His mighty name as well as He knows us? If we do there is no way the chaos around us will have an impact on us; because both riches and honor come from Him, not from Capitol Hill! He is the One who rules all, not Congress; He’s the One who makes great and give us strength not Wall Street. Instead of having our heads down as we look to what is going on in our country now, let’s thank and praise His glorious name, and pray for our leaders. After all, sometimes they are the ones that need more prayer than anyone else. His mighty name made us recession and depression free.
