A Dark Past Can Be Forgiven
There are two wonderful Scriptures in the book of Colossian. Colossian 2:13-14 says, “When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions, 14 having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.”
Through the death of Jesus Christ, His son, without giving up or compromising His righteousness and justice, our heavenly Father forgave us all our past acts of disobedience and unrighteousness. How many sins were exactly forgiven by G-d? All of them! If one sin had been left unforgiving, we would have no access to Father, no right to be in Heaven, no access to G-d, no healing, no deliverance from demon possession, none of the good stuff stacked up for those who believe. Thankfully, the Lord has made it possible for us to be assured that all our sinful acts have been forgiven. Everything has been wiped out; every accusation against us has been erased. No matter how dark and gruesome our past may have been, how evil, how low our lives may have been, all has been nailed at the cross and abolished, taken out of the way.
We are free in Him, guiltless; everything contrary had been erased when we came to Jesus. When the devil, your neighbors or even family members try to remind you of your past, remind him/them of this “You are justified in Christ Jesus, the record against you had been expunged at Calvary, no matter how dark it was. Go ahead, be happy, and enjoy life with your Savior, because even the darkest sin can be forgiven!
