G-d’s Mighty Work in Us

In John 9:1-3 we read. “As He passed by, He saw a man blind from birth.  2 And His disciples asked Him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he would be born blind?" 3 Jesus answered, "It was neither that this man sinned, nor his parents; but it was so that the works of God might be displayed in him.

As Christians we believe that the counsel of G-d accords with the highest reason. In all events, His purpose is either to train His people to patience, correct their immorality, tame their wantonness, arouse them from lethargy, or even defeat the schemes of the enemies of faith. No matter how much His specific reasons may escape our notice, you can be certain that the reason lies with Him.

Sometimes we will not be able to figure what is on hand because the Father may have some specific plans of His own, to display His mighty power in us. Sometimes we have prayed, and prayed, and prayed, and it seems as if G-d is not listening, or we may even wonder if there is an obstacle of sin between us.

Rest assure of one thing, we need to have our eyes wide open as Jesus did to discern and understand how G-d’s work may and will be displayed in us. We are the object of His love. He will always have the best in mind for you and me. Maybe you have been praying quite a lot for something special and nothing has happened. Keep your eyes and mind wide open. It may not necessarily be you or your parents who have sinned. It may very well be the fact that we are one of those chosen by Him to have His mighty work displayed in us. If this is the case blessed be His name.  We don’t have to understand everything because it will all fit into place. Blind men through G-d’s mighty work displayed in them can still see today, as in the days of old!

In His service,
