How Does G-d See Beauty?
In a society that spends so much money to look better (at least that’s what we think) few people have ever stopped to ask the Lord how He sees beauty. We, of all people, being godly people, should not be obsessed with what the news media thinks about beauty, much less Hollywood. Instead, we should go to our Maker and find out from Him what He thinks about beauty.
What does G-d say about beauty? In 1 Samuel 16:7 we read, “Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for G-d sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” Although, there is nothing wrong with being cute, beautiful, handsome, or whatever you may call it, true beauty in the eyes of G-d comes from within. We may spend millions of dollars on make-up, but if we don’t have the right attitude in our heart it will do us no good. I don’t think there are ugly people in this world; there are only people with the wrong attitude.
We have been created in G-d’s image, therefore we are all beautiful. Stop worrying that you are ugly or not so good looking and take that time you spend in from of the mirror and spend it in G-d’s presence. Certainly, His beauty will reflect on you. After all, it is our inward man we need to work on and as the inward man changes our outward appearance will change. Be beautiful according to G-d’s Word. Remember, if nobody has told you lately, you are beautiful, I am telling you right now, “In the eyes of G-d you are and you will always be beautiful and that’s all that matters. Remain beautiful!
